Matt Koorey is a results driven, no-bs triathlon coach with a career length so extensive that it can only be driven by the one thing he is so well known for….extreme PASSION for triathlon.
He’s been helping age group and professional triathletes achieve personal excellence since 1998.
As part of his coaching experience, Matt was personally mentored by Brett ‘The Doc’ Sutton between 2011 and 2014.
Husband of 21 years. Father to 3 sons aged 18, 16 and 14, Matt raced at the professional level back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, while always holding down a full-time job.
Career highlights have included…
- 30+ Age Group victories in IRONMAN branded races
- 1st Rydges Capricorn Ironman Distance Triathlon, 1999.
- 2nd Place Australian Long Course Championships, 1995.
- 8th place finish at the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games Triathlon as a 20-year old.
Matt understands and caters for the challenges of being an age-group triathlete, while continuing to compete at the highest level as an age-grouper himself.
He is the coach and trusted advisor to top Australian professional triathlete Michael Fox, and has competed in hundreds of triathlons, including 30+ IRONMAN, 45+ IRONMAN 70.3 finishes, with dozens of age-group victories to his name.
Matt has a reputation for generating exceptional results as a coach and athlete, and prides himself on becoming your competitions worst nightmare.
